The West Penn Football Officials Association (WPFOA) Chapter was established in 1959 as part of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA).  The WPFOA proudly serves districts 7 & 8 in the PIAA.  THe WPFOA strives to provide the best officials to all levels of football from Midget Leagues up to High School.  Some of our members also are currently active as college officials in various college conferences.

As part of WPFOA’s overall commitment to student athletes, the WPFOA annually awards the Mac Prine/ WPFOA Scholarship to two student athletes.  The student athletes that are chosen do not only exemplify upmost integrity and sportsmanship on the field but also in the classroom.  The WPFOA Scholarships are intended for WPIAL football players who might be overlooked, as opposed to highly-touted college prospects already expected to receive a full ride.  Each scholarship is awarded to a student athlete who is an excellent student, is a leader to his football team, is a model citizen in his community, and has demonstrated a financial need for the scholarship.  The student athletes must enroll in a four college to be eligible to receive the scholarship.  The scholarships provide financial assistance during the student athletes’ first four years of college.
